Acorn Growth Companies and Acorn
Growth Equities were
founded to provide an alternative to traditional
private equity firms interested in opportunistic
transactions and exit strategies.
We are interested in value. We are
interested in meeting objectives…ours and those we are working with.
We are focused on the long term.
We are interested in growth. We are interested in the well
being of our employees and their families.
We are special in that we
care about our workforce and our customers– not just the bottom line.
We understand that when you execute on compelling business
objectives the results take care of themselves.
Execution is predicated
on having good people, a clear vision, an environment that fosters
decision making, and clear paths of communication.
Acorn moves rapidly to assess opportunities and
synergies, and acts accordingly.
Our primary objective is to unlock the value that exists in all companies,
of all sizes, and create and independent, entrepreneurial environment
where the business experts can work everyday on growth-- utilizing us
as a resource that provides support, not overhead.
Empowerment
It starts with demonstrating confidence in the staff and
management.
We work with
existing management to establish the objectives, identify the
opportunities, and set the course.
From there we step back. In many
cases a feeling of being liberated is the spark that is needed to ignite
the engine of innovation– we provide that spark.
It is fundamental that everyone feels they can make an impact,
everyday.
Value
We work everyday to mine the value in each organization.
Each company is different, and we do not pretend to know
everything.
We work with each company to maximize the potential
within each product and service mix, and we work with management to
jointly set objectives
for each. Everyone needs to
know that what they are working on makes sense and why it is important to
the business. Collectively we are nothing without
purpose– we are nothing if we do not come to work everyday trying to make
things better than they were the day before.
Vision
Sometimes the toughest part of operating a company is establishing
the right goals and objectives.
Flexibility is important, because things typically do not always go
according to plan. However, with a
solid vision, everyone can remain focused on the destination even if the
road traveled changes from time to time.
It is critical that each independent company maintain its own
vision that is articulated to the entire staff, and as importantly, that
everyone involved is fully informed about the setbacks, milestone
achievements, and successes as the business moves forward.
We respect the
professionalism of our employees, and we need to count on them for input
as we move through the process of growing each company.
